Our client is located in the heart of the Gulf of Carpentaria, covering approximately 65,000 square kilometres with a population of around 2,000. Council employs around 100 staff and manages a significant capital works program, including flood recovery projects.
We are seeking an experienced Workplace Health & Safety Coordinator for a 6-week temporary assignment based in Carpentaria Shire. Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, you will lead the implementation and compliance of WHS systems across Council operations. This hands-on role involves site visits, audits, training coordination, incident investigations, and WHS reporting.
You will also support the WHS Officer, re-establish the WHS Committee, and ensure Council meets its obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
